Two central themes run through all my projects: playing and composing in a fixed band, and collaborating with other artistic disciplines. When you play together with the same musicians for an extended period, the music deepens, and the successful jazz trio Kapok is a prime example of this. We stormed the major jazz stages, produced four albums, and won an Edison award. Recently, the adventurous band PONGA launched onto the Dutch jazz scene with a concert at the BIMHuis and will be doing a theater project at Oerol the summer of ‘25.

With over 10 years of professional experience and countless concerts and tours, I remain fascinated by how one can strengthen a piece as powerfully as possible through music in collaboration with other creators. In this, I am a performer, such as in the 50-theater tour with MaxTak/Kim van Zeben, or the international dance performance “MÁM” with shows in the United States and Taiwan. Or I am the musical director and composer at tgLAVA. But the central focus is to find the right character together, and the role adapts accordingly
